Dr Alisha Davies

Head of Research and Development

Public Health Wales

Alisha left the Nuffield Trust in March 2016 and is now the Head of Research and Development at Public Health Wales.

Prior to joining the Nuffield Trust, Alisha worked in public health roles in a primary care trust, local authority (where she led the public health input into Value Based Commissioning for frail elderly populations in North Central London) and an acute trust (supporting service re-design and evaluation in practice).

During 2011 to 2013 Alisha was based at the Nuffield Trust and contributed to a number of high profile work programs including person based resource allocation (2011); informing the Department of Health’s strategy for integrated care (2012); and reviewing quality ratings for the Secretary of State for Health (2013).

Alisha holds an MSc in Demography and Health and in 2008 completed her PhD at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Her research focused on using large primary care database to investigate differences in the treatment, morbidity and mortality due to coronary heart disease between men and women and across the four constituent countries of the UK.

She has published in peer reviewed journals and is a member of the Editorial Board for Emerging Themes in Epidemiology (www.ete-online.com)
