Alisha worked with the Nuffield Trust from March 2010 until January 2012 as part of her specialist training in Public Health.

Prior to starting the Specialty Training Alisha worked in public health at a national and international level.  Her work has helped improve the national surveillance of infectious diseases in New Zealand, and informed the Chlamydia Screening Programme in England.

In 2008, Alisha completed her PhD investigating the epidemiology of coronary heart disease in the UK from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Her research focused on using large primary care database to investigate differences in the treatment, morbidity and mortality due to coronary heart disease between men and women and across the four constituent countries of the UK. She is also a member of the Editorial Board for Emerging Themes in Epidemiology (www.ete-online.com).
