Dr John Pugh MP was born in Liverpool in 1948, and graduated in philosophy from Durham University before becoming a teacher. John was elected as the Member of Parliament for Southport in 2001.
With the formation of the Coalition in 2010, he was appointed as Co-Chair of the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Committee for Health and Social Care. He is also Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Telehealth.
