Summary:
The recent White Paper, ‘Equity and excellence: Liberating the NHS’, proposes a national independent NHS ‘Commissioning’ Board, whose roles will include resource allocation and working directly with commissioners. This breakfast seminar, with Professor Gregor Coster, Dean of Graduate Studies, University of Auckland, and Chairman Counties Manukau District Health Board, New Zealand, will explore the rationale behind the recent establishment of a similar board by the New Zealand government, following a review conducted by the Ministerial Review Group.
