Dr Ronny Cheung is a Consultant and joint Head of Service for General Paediatrics at the Evelina London Children's Hospital. He is Clinical Director of Healthy London Partnership’s Child Death Review Transformation Programme; and the child health representative on the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) Indicators Advisory Committee.
He has a longstanding interest in health care quality and reducing unwarranted variation in children’s health care. He was the lead editor on the 2012 & 2013 NHS Atlas of Variation in Healthcare for Children and Young People, and has authored two Nuffield Trust reports on international comparisons of children and young people’s health.
From 2012-18, he was Clinical Advisor to Public Health England’s Child & Maternal Health Intelligence Network. Prior to that, he was seconded as a clinical advisor to the Chief Medical Officer at the Department of Health, and as health policy advisor to the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit in the Cabinet Office.
