The NHS in England is embarking on a substantial programme of reform made more challenging by ambitious efficiency targets and large cuts to management. The Nuffield Trust policy response: NHS reforms in England: managing the transition, identifies ways to minimise the risks associated with these changes as well as capitalise on the opportunities they present.

This is a presentation of the key slides from the report which, among other things, illustrates the change in Primary Care Trust (PCT) allocations between 2011 – 12, Payment by Results as a percentage of PCT allocations, and NHS surpluses between 2009 – 10.
