This slideshow reveals the findings from a new Ipsos MORI opinion poll, which was commissioned by the Nuffield Trust, to explore public attitudes to the NHS and whether it should be protected from future spending cuts compared to other public services.
The representative poll of more than 1,000 British adults also explores attitudes to tax rises and reveals how strongly the public regard the NHS.
The opinion poll is published by the Nuffield Trust alongside the report: A decade of austerity? The funding pressures facing the NHS from 2010/11 to 2021/22 (December 2012).
This report forms part of our project: Buying time: what is the scale of the financial challenge facing the NHS & how can it be met?
