Jeremy Hurst: Improving efficiency in NHS trusts

In this video, Jeremy Hurst, independent health economist, outlines the key findings of a research study commissioned by the Nuffield Trust which explores how acute and mental health trusts can best make savings by improving efficiency.

Jeremy Hurst co-authored the report with Sally Williams, health policy analyst and researcher. In this interview, he discusses what is known about achieving greater technical efficiency within health systems and draws out the lessons for the NHS as hospitals face the requirement of making financial efficiencies.
