This virtual event was the third in a series of workshops focused on remote consulting in general practice during the Covid-19 pandemic. It forms part of the UKRI/ESRC funded ‘Remote by Default’ research programme.

The workshop brought together perspectives from general practice, commissioning, research and local and national primary and digital health care policy. Participants explored:

  • how the switch to remote consulting is changing the way in which clinicians and other staff carry out their work;
  • how these changes might affect the core values of general practice;
  • the ways in which we might better support the current and future general practice workforce.

Outputs from the event will contribute to policy guidance on the further extension of remote general practice as the Covid-19 pandemic subsides.

This event was held online on Wednesday 7th April 2021.
