Liam Donaldson: Engaging clinicians in designing care

The proposed reforms to the NHS, as outlined in the recent White Paper, place a big emphasis on the successful engagement of clinicians, particularly doctors, with designing high quality, high value care. Engaging clinicians had also been a focus of the previous Labour government, but has proved challenging.

Liam Donaldson, until recently the Chief Medical Officer for the Department of Health, shares his reflections on what engages doctors with Ruth Thorlby, Senior Fellow, Nuffield Trust.
