Event: QualityWatch 2014: close to critical?
Date: 28 October 2014
Time: 9.30am – 4pm
Venue: Health Foundation Auditorium, 90 Long Acre, London WC2E 9RA
The measurement, monitoring and safeguarding of the quality of patient care continues to be at the centre stage of debate and discussion on the future of the NHS and social care services. As providers face up to the twin challenges of an extended period of constrained funding and rising demand, we examine the indications for sustained quality of care.
The second annual QualityWatch conference, part of a joint research programme from the Nuffield Trust and the Health Foundation, will be a forum for policy-makers, clinicians and managers to come together to review the state of quality and explore opportunities to advance quality as NHS and social care services struggle to withstand the financial squeeze.
At the conference you will hear from a range of international, regional and local leaders engaged in quality of care who will explore:
- How has the quality of services changed in recent years?
- How does this compare with quality trends in other countries?
- How has quality changed at the bottom end of the scale?
- How does media debate around quality reflect the actual experience of care?
The conference will also feature discussion of published QualityWatch research and analysis, including elective waiting times, admissions from care homes and mental health.
Confirmed speakers include:
- Prof Sir Bruce Keogh, National Medical Director, NHS England
