David Davis is a paramedic and the Clinical Lead & directs the joint NHS England & Health Education England NHS Integrated Urgent Care Workforce Development Programme. He has led this national strategic programme, which is focussed on developing the NHS IUC/111 workforce since its inception in April 2015.

Continuing to practice as a frontline paramedic as often as possible, David has held a number of roles within the NHS Ambulance Service, including responsibility for clinical care pathways and as Clinical Lead for the 999 Emergency Operations Centres. 

David has undertaken a number of national positions within the health sector including, Clinical Informatics Advisor AHP and National Clinical Lead for the Health & Social Care Information Centre and Department of Health in England.

David is a Fellow of the College of Paramedics, Chair of the Honours & Awards Committee, is a spokesperson on mental health of the workforce and has previously been Director of Communications and Stroke Lead. He is also a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Paramedic Practice and a Founding Fellow of the Faculty of Clinical Informatics. 

Additionally, David is AHP Clinical Lead for South East Coast Clinical Senate Council.  His area of clinical interest and expertise is the pre-hospital management and treatment of stroke and transient ischaemic attack (TIA) and he has previously been recognised for his contribution to the prehospital management of stroke within England.  David is a Peer Inspector for HM Inspectorate of Constabularies and Fire & Rescue Services, recently supporting the inspection of Police Forces around vulnerability and mental health.
