Kevin Herbert is a Research Associate Health Economist with the Cambridge Research Methods Hub and supports in delivering the economic evaluation elements of RSET projects.
Graduating with a BSc Medical Microbiology (Surrey University, 1995), a PhD in Molecular Microbiology (University of Sheffield) and later an MSc Economic Evaluation in Healthcare (City University, London, 2018), he has broad health economics research experience across the health of children and families, health care services, infectious disease and oncology.
Recent projects include: the econometric analysis and subsequent development of a cost model estimating the impact of childhood exposure to maltreatment and/or domestic violence or abuse in the UK population; modelling of the economic burden of Respiratory Syncytial Virus in Adults in the UK.
Kevin has extensive previous experience in public health and infectious disease in both the private and public sector, with integral roles in the successful development of the Public Health England Genomic Services and Development Unit and a 2015 deployment to Sierra Leone as part of the UK Ebola crisis response.
