Becky is a public health registrar, and has worked within a local authority, an integrated care board and the health protection team in UKHSA. Some areas of focus have included mental health services, drug and alcohol treatment services and children’s weight management services.
Before entering public health she was a midwife, working clinically, in research and global health, in England and Sierra Leone. Becky continues to be passionate about maternal health, being a co-chair for the Health of Women and Girls Special Interest Group in the Faculty of Public Health. She has also continued this interest by advocating for change through research, sitting on advisory groups and serving on the board of a maternal and child health charity.
Becky holds a master’s degree in public health from the University of Cambridge, where she looked at socio-economic inequalities in social care, and in Sexual and Reproductive Health Research from The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, analysing the impact of cleaner burning cookstoves on birth outcomes in Malawi.
