Dr Ronny Cheung has been a Consultant General Paediatrician at the Evelina London Children's Hospital since 2014, and has a longstanding interest in health care quality and reducing unwarranted variation in children’s health care.

Alongside his clinical work, he is Clinical Advisor to Public Health England’s Child & Maternal Health Intelligence Network, Clinical Director of Healthy London Partnership’s Child Death Overview Panel Transformation Programme and Co-Clinical Lead for Child Health for the Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital/ Dartford & Gravesham Foundation Hospitals Group Vanguard Programme.

He was the lead editor on the 2012 & 2013 NHS Atlas of Variation in Healthcare for Children and Young People, and is the child health representative on the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) Indicators Advisory Committee.

He was previously seconded as a clinical advisor to the English Chief Medical Officer at the Department of Health, and health policy advisor to the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit in the Cabinet Office.
