Sylvia is a health and care strategist whose career spans over 30 years in health, social care, housing and the voluntary sector.  Following operational roles in the NHS, she worked nationally and internationally for a wide range of organisations including the Young Foundation/NESTA, Technology Strategy Board, NHS Tayside, Scottish Government and NHS Confederation, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and Price Waterhouse Coopers. Her principle expertise and skills lie in strategic change, master planning, qualitative and quantitative approaches, health care innovation, venturing and advisory work and she draws on experience in UK, Europe, Australia, North America and Central Asia.

She helped develop NHS England policies for strategic asset management and for the adoption & spread of health and care innovation and shifting the balance of care for the Scottish Government. She has worked on strategies to address complex problems in health and care, including effective innovative approaches to integrating care systems, planning sustainable healthcare infrastructure, crisis prevention outside hospitals, building social capital in communities in the UK and overseas.
