For 35 years, the National Centre for Social Research’s British Social Attitudes (BSA) survey has been finding out about the public’s perceptions on what it’s like to live in Britain. It focuses on a wide range of areas, including people’s views on the NHS and social care.

It is NatCen’s longest-running survey, with the latest version carried out between July and October 2017 – asking a nationally representative sample of 3,004 adults in England, Scotland and Wales about their satisfaction with the NHS overall, and 1,002 people about their satisfaction with individual NHS and social care services.

Working in partnership with the King’s Fund, we published the results and analysis of the 2017 survey in February this year – showing a sharp, alarming drop in public satisfaction with the health service.

The previous six years’ surveys can be found here.
