The report identifies the following themes: the lack of clarity about the role of health care professionals in prisons; how to balance the demands of security and the use of resources; the gap between vision and actuality; and the changes afoot. In conclusion, Professor Stacey draws out major points from the conference to illustrate continuing unacceptable practices.
