This report examines the legacy Cochrane left which has begun to revolutionise policy making and the delivery of health care today. The result is a collection of fascinating reminiscences on Cochrane the man, by some of the prominent figures who knew and worked with him, followed by chapters on edidemiology, effectiveness, efficiency, equity, and evolution.
The breadth of discussion in this report makes it an important statement on the evolution of health services research, and a fitting tribute to the man who was a research pioneer in this area. It will take its place in health services research literature as the sequel to Cochrane's own Effectiveness and Efficiency.
