This major programme of studies in the field of disability arose as both the public and policy makers were becoming more aware of the challenges to society presented by dependency and handicap and of the inadequacy of existing responses to demonstrable needs.
The report provides conclusions from the programme concerned with organisation, improvement and development of services for physically disabled persons and the frail elderly.
