Peter Smith is Emeritus Professor of Health Policy at the Imperial College Business School and Co-Director of the Centre for Health Policy. Previously he was Director of the Centre for Health Economics at the University of York.
He is a health economist with research interests that include the financing, efficiency and performance of health systems, with a particular interest in the link between evidence and policy.
He has published over 120 papers in refereed journals and several books, including the Oxford Handbook of Health Economics (co-edited with Sherry Glied).
He has been a member of numerous Governmental advisory and policy committees, and has advised many other national and international agencies, including the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the World Health Organization, the World Economic Forum, the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
