Assertions that AI is going to transform all aspects of our lives are ever-present. Expectations for health care – where politicians and policy makers think AI can make the NHS more efficient and sustainable – are sky-high. But do we understand the technical, organisational and ethical challenges of developing and implementing AI? This session will explore these issues and offer provocations on what needs to happen if we are to succeed in implementing AI into NHS services. Session at Nuffield Trust Summit, 7 March 2024.
