Paul is a GP in a rural market town in North Devon. Five years ago he started a pilot virtual ward in the three local practices and helped develop the in-house predictive modelling capabilities of NHS Devon with Todd Chenore, Senior Information Analyst, and the Commissioning Information Team.
The virtual wards and predictive modelling now cover over 100 practices, 750,000 patients and 23 integrated complex-care teams.
Paul has also been the clinical lead for the Devon Urgent Care Dashboards and led a complete service re-design of COPD services in North Devon based on the whole system approach, including IT system interoperability.
He is currently working to improve the predictive and responsive capabilities of the Urgent Care System in North Devon and how to predict, manage and attribute resources in a real-time, integrated services environment.
