Five years after: A review of health care research management after Rothschild

The book consists of two essays, the first being an account by Professor Tom Whitehead of what has happened since the Rothschild Report and the report of the group which complements Professor Whitehead's (commissioned) study and which reviews the framework of Government-financed research in health care generally. In view of the criticisms made, it would seem the time is ripe for a review of the mechanisms established since the Government White Paper.
